As Vice President of Human Resources for Camillus House, Inc., Barbara Romero focuses on the company’s most valuable asset – its employees. She aligns best practices in Human Resources Management with Camillus’ mission of Christian hospitality and respect for life. She is an accomplished Human Resources professional with over 15 years of experience in the service and healthcare industry. Barbara is also a published poet and actress, in her spare time.
Ms. Romero was President of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM, Student Chapter at Florida International University) and served as a Board member of HR Miami in different capacities. As Director of Foundation, she achieved the prestigious SHRM Foundation Chapter Champions award in 2011.
Upon receiving her A.A. degree from Miami Dade College, Ms. Romero continued her education at Florida International University where she earned a BA in Psychology and later graduated from the University of Miami with an MBA in Management.
