The Food For All holiday campaign — a nationwide charitable fundraising effort by Publix Super Markets and some 4,000 other participating grocery stores — raised $1,795,607 locally in a six-week period during its 2011 campaign, helping to fund more than 70 South Florida non-profit agencies, including Camillus House.
During the six-week holiday period, Publix stores had boards with $1, $3 and $5 coupons at cash register. When a patron selected one of the coupons, the bar code was scanned and the customer paid the donation as part of their grocery total.
Since 1995, Publix Super Markets Miami Division has raised nearly $13 million for South Florida charities during its annual Food For All campaign.
On April 19, 2012, Publix Super Markets presented checks to South Florida charities, including Camillus House. Accepting the $20,000 gift were Maria Peralta, Camillus House Community Services Manager, and Camillus Food Service Director Judith Gatti.
